ANNUAL FUR RONDY AMATEUR PHOTO CONTEST SHOWCASES TALENT FROM AROUND THE STATE AND INDIANA
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Results are in for the 75th Anniversary of the Annual Fur Rendezvous Amateur Photo Contest, held each year in the Mall at Sears. The contest received 434 entries in the 2 divisions of Adult and Junior. Entries were accepted in black and white or color with 8 different categories of Animals, Scenic, Fur Rondy, Flowers, Creative, Unclassified, Sports and Portraits. Our 3 Judges are local, professional photographers Dave Parkhurst, Alaska Naturally, Inc, Danny Daniels Photography and Didier Lindsey, Alaska Wildlife Images. Judges donated their time and experience to judge the contest. The criteria the judges used when making their selection were print quality, composition, clarity and sharpness. When applicable; impact, originality, and subject material matching the photo category were also considered. The public will be able to view the photos in the Mall at Sears (located at 600 East Northern Lights Boulevard) starting Friday, February 26 through Sunday, March 7.

Best of show is selected from the first place winners in divisions, mediums and all 8 categories.
The Fur Rendezvous Photo contest is open to all amateur photographers taking photographs in and of Alaska. This years’ contest was sponsored by The Mall at Sears. Fames Etc. and Sears. A complete listing of winners in all categories is attached. //

Fur Rendezvous, February 26- March 10, 2010
PRIZES
Plaque and $100 gift card from SEARS for Adult & Junior Best of Show, Black & White and Color. (Total of 4) Ribbons for each division and category for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places and Honorable Mention.
PHOTO PICKUP
Please pick up at FRAMES ETC. starting Saturday, March 13, 2010. Prints not claimed by Wednesday, March 31, 2010 will be discarded.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PHOTOS
No persons affiliated with the Mall at Sears or this photo contest will be responsible for lost or damaged photographs. Due to the necessary hanging techniques (Velcro is attached to the backs of the core board), some damage may occur to the backs of core board.
